Alternative to LOOKUP for Parent-to-Child Mapping [As Lookups in Polaris are worst performing]

Hi Community,

I have a module dimensioned by L3 (Category) and need to display the values in a module dimensioned by L4 (Items), where L4 rolls up to L3.

Example:

Category 1 = 10
Category 2 = 20

Category 1
 ├─ Item 1
 └─ Item 2

Category 2
 ├─ Item 3
 └─ Item 4

Expected result:

Item 1 = 10
Item 2 = 10
Item 3 = 20
Item 4 = 20

The standard approach is

Source.Volume[LOOKUP: Parent Category]

Is there any alternative or more performant way to achieve this without using LOOKUP?

Hi ,

Maybe for lookup line refer from separate SYS module of item list instead of within module line item as dimensionality factor can be there

I agree but lookups are not performing well and model is working slowly. But in our business requrirement, we need to disaggregate parent data to child level.

So, any suggestions will be helpful.
