Top down allocation
Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to capture macro-economic demand % at Region (Parent level) and the same % should be allocated to its children.
Eg : We have list Region with UK as parent and UK-MSO and UK-FS as zero level (child) members.
We need capture macro-economic demand % at UK (parent) and same should be directly allocated to its children.
Any suggestions how we could achive this in Anaplan.
Currently we cannot enter any data at Parent level.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,
Let me see if i understand your requirement.
You want to enter macro-economic demand % at Region (Parent level) and the same % should be referred by its children.
Note that i have replaced "Allocated to" in your question to "Referred by", because "allocation" normally carries a "Total Amount split to many components" kind of meaning.
If my understanding above is correct, then you can do the following:
1. Create list called "Region"
2. Create a different list called "Country"
3. Set "Region" as "Parent Hierarchy" of "Country".
4. Create module A using "Region", and a line item where you enter "demand %".
5. Create a different module B using "Country", and a line item called "Parent" where formula = parent(item(country)), and a line item called "demand %" where formula = module A.demand %[lookup:parent]
Thanks

hi There,
Try using Breakback option in the dataentry module of child locations - UK FS & UK-MSO. https://community.anaplan.com/t5/Modeling/Breakback/ta-p/12322
also pls clarify same should be allocated to children, you mean if parent is 64% then child too 64%?
