Defining the default file for imports
Hi
Is it possible to specify a default file for some import actions in Anaplan, so that whenever the user clicks on the action, instead of asking the file to upload "choose files", it automatically looks at a specific place for a specific file and runs the import?

Hi Aakash,
Once an action which uploads from a file is published to a dashboard, it will always ask for a file when the button is clicked. However, workspace admins can go to the actions tab and just click run and this will run the action with the file that is originally uploaded when the action is created (make sure to upload the file with the 'Everyone' setting)
To achieve what you described, create a module to module import. This will not ask for a file upload
Hope this helps!

Hi Aakash,
Refer "Anaplan Connect" or other data integration options to specify the fixed file path to load the data into Anaplan. You can also schedule it, if required.
https://help.anaplan.com/anapedia/Content/Data_Integrations/Anaplan_Connect.html?_ga=2.72340307.1118503509.1564377745-933561406.1564377745
But if you are looking to just click the import action / process button manually (on-demand) and expect to pick the file from fixed file path automatically, this feature does not currently available in Anaplan.

Hi
Thanks for the answers. Is there any workaround available to just click the import action / process button manually (on-demand) and expect to pick the file from fixed file path automatically?

No, I dont have any work-around for now. If the uploading file is in shared folder and if it's difficult to remember the file path & name to search & open, I can give you a suggession. You can store the file path in the URL text format in one of the line item and you can publish the URL file path & action button in a separate Admin dashboard. Admin dashboard can comprise of all such periodic activities (action / process buttons) including required instructions and URL file path.
