Dependent dropdown - Based on line items

HI Team, 

 

Just realized that the dependent dropdown will work only based on the property that the list has. As we are following the best practice not to create properties in a list, can we make the dependent dropdown based on line items. Agree/Disagree or Any comments?

Agreed, but the functionality was brought out before the new Best Practice.  It's a similar story for the Assign function for Numbered Lists and Export labels

I agree with this. I hope there is a way to create dependent dropdown based on formula.
