Does anyone have an idea how you can create a dropdown list that doesn't show its parent hierarchy(in case of a composite hierarchy) using a dependent list for example, one way or another ??

You mush have to create a separate Flat list with only leaf-level items and use this for your selection. The below post might give you more insights. Thanks.
