Yes it has to be done in the importing mapping. Go to this window and click on this checkbox
Select YYYYMMDD option and you should be able to map it
Looks like the format of the dates in Mapping is not done correctly. It should be YYYYMMDD
Thanks for your response on this. Curious as to why it is only YYYYMMDD that works here and MMDDYY is not acceptable?

This is as per the data you received in your source file. Since the format is YYYYMMDD in your file for start date and end date, you are asking anaplan system to consider this format.
