Is there any way through which we could just see the year(Not Months) in time page selector of New UX ?
NOTE: TIME is a dimension in the module.

Try applying a filter to time as shown:
Step1: create a time filter in a sys module

I can't see any filter selection in time drop down .
It is not showing filter because, the Time dimension in the page is appearing as a result of switching ON Time as a Hierarchy filter (as opposed to it being in the context selector in the Pivot).
You can bring up the filter by following the below steps:
1. Edit the view (pivot) by taking Time in context (page selector)
2. This will enable the filter to appear on Time
3. Apply the Year filter
4. Edit the pivot again to replace the time dimension to where it was earlier (rows/columns)
5. Publish the view

I couldn't find any formula to do this, but I want a way to put on the page/grid the connection details. This is so I know what connection I'm in rather than going into Connections details to see it. Is there an XL3 formula to return this value?
