ALM Sync error

Hi Team,

I require some urgent advise ALM Sync issue.

My team has accidently changed structure at the target model directly using standard mode & now my source model is not getting sync with my target model. We tried to revert back to existing ID using History setting however, even though changes reverted back to earlier setting but cannot perform sync with source model.

That means that ALM is broken. I think you will have to reset ALM and create new DEV and TEST environments. Here are the three golden articles revolving around ALM

@CommunityMember111277 Unfortunately, once the sync is broken it cannot be recovered with the same DEV model.

This is why the golden rule is: NEVER change the mode of a Deployed model (PROD).

The only change mode accepted is from DEPLOYED to ARCHIVED and when changed back, it is needed to be always chosen the Deployed mode.

In order to have a new DEV model, the only solution is to make a copy from the existing PROD model and the new copy can become the new DEV.

Yea, thankfully we did that - make a copy every time before we make any change to the prod model. Was able to use the copied model & sync it with dev model.. Had to perform separate mapping for Excel Addin & NUX

Having said that, there should be an option - to revert back to the original model or at least the Anaplan team can make some required changes at the backend - like taking a copy every 6-12 hours automatically which can deleted later on automatically as well. So, that in future if anything goes wrong like this one, the Anaplan team can restore the model from the backend.

Also, I found out that you cannot delete unused revision tag. There should be an option to delete unused tags which is missing currently
