Option to overwrite line items with Read Access Driver through an Import action.
Hi All,
I am in a situation where the users are uploading a data file into Anaplan, that we are then wanting to create a report based on, to highlight some issues, that the end users then should be able to comment on.
The problem I am facing is that loading the data file into a module, we want to show the raw data inputs, in addition to an extra input line item to capture the reason for certain issues.
Since I need to have it editable for them to input the cause, all the raw data inputs also needs to be editable, unless I make use of the Read Access Driver, then perfect, the end users can't change the raw data from the NUX.
The issue is that if the raw data items are defined as Read Access Driver, then the action loading the raw data into the module are not able to capture the data. This led to quite a bit of confusion, since it worked perfectly for me, since I am a workspace Administrator, so I can overwrite the Read only access driver. But for my users that normally are doing the upload, they need to have access to write to the raw data, but that would then result in that table being editable for them also, which I would prefer to avoid.
I know I can duplicate the line items for the raw data and then refer to them, to have a line item that isn't changeable to publish to the NUX, but I find that quite excessive, since the database is fairly big, and it would just be redundant data.
I have attached a picture of how it will look for the users that are uploading the raw data, where the read highlighted is raw data, and shouldn't be able to change, while the yellow is where there is a need to actual edit it.
Is there anyone else that has experience with this setup, or ideas on how to tackle this.
For me I would like to have the option to be able to make an action able to overwrite read only data or at least be able to label something to be only changeable by an action. So, it would be possible to have an end user upload a raw data file, that would work the same way as if a workspace administrator did it or at least make it possible to separate between changes made through action and NUX changes.
Looking forward to hear if anyone else have experienced similar issues, or ideas.
