Blueprint View - "Is Summary" and "Parent" - Impact of Clearing These Values

Hello and thanks in advance for any assistance!

I am hoping to better understand what the "Is Summary" and "Parent" in the Blueprint View impact in the model?

My end goal is that I would like to set all of the "Is Summary" to FALSE and clear out the "Parent" in the Blueprint view. I do not fully understand what the impact of doing this would be, and am not able to find detailed information online about this. (Does this change any other calculations, summaries, values?)

From discussions I have found, it appears that this really will only impact whether the line item is included in exports when "Omit Summary Items" is selected.

My screenshot shows that once "Is Summary" is TRUE and "Parent" is populated in the blueprint view, the line items now have a child/parent relationship. I am trying to select a boolean for each line item so I can filter which line items from the LISS I want to display on a dashboard, the parent/child relationship is preventing me from being able select each line item individually.

1. “Is Summary” (for LIS)

What it means

• Identifies whether a list item is a parent (aggregate node).
• If checked = TRUE, the item can:
  • Have children
  • Aggregate data from lower levels

Impact in the model

1. Hierarchical Aggregation
   • Enables roll-up of values from child items to parent.
   • Without it, no hierarchy → no aggregation.
2. Calculation Behavior
   • Parent values are calculated based on aggregation method (SUM, AVERAGE, etc.) defined in line items.
