Link to new screen without opening a new tab

Hi team, i like to organise my screen menus using line item URL from a Module. (see image below) It looks very neat and organised on screen BUT when launching it, the web browser opens a new tab. When using the 'normal' method of inserting a link to page item it does not.

My gripe with the 'normal' way is that the linkages dont look as good.

Is there a browser setting or other workaround to overcome this?
