I would like to raise a UX improvement request regarding filter icon visibility in NUX grids.
Currently, when a column or row is filtered, Anaplan displays a blue filter icon in the grid header. The issue appears when the header background is also blue (or a similar color) — in such cases, the filter icon becomes almost invisible, making it very easy for end users to miss the fact that a filter is applied, please see example (see blue filter icon on Jul column):
This creates several problems:
- Users may not realize that data is filtered
- It leads to confusion, incorrect interpretation of data, and unnecessary questions
- It negatively impacts accessibility and visual contrast, especially for non-technical users
Any of the following would significantly improve usability:
- Adaptive filter icon color based on header background (contrast-aware)
- Option to configure filter icon color in NUX
- Alternative or additional visual indicator that a filter is applied (e.g. badge, text, stronger highlight)
This would greatly improve clarity, accessibility, and user trust in dashboards that rely heavily on filters.
Thank you for considering this enhancement.
