In as much detail as possible, describe the problem or experience related to your idea. Please provide the context of what you were trying to do and include specific examples or workarounds:
When copying text from an existing Text Card on a published page and pasting it into a new Text Card in edit mode, the rich-text formatting becomes distorted. This requires builders to spend unnecessary time manually fixing the text.
Specific Examples of the Formatting Distortion:
- Text originally formatted as "Normal" randomly and automatically converts to the "Instructions" format.
- Bulleted lists acquire random, extra line breaks/spacing between each bullet point.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Go to a published Anaplan UX page that has a Text Card containing "Normal" text and a bulleted list.
- Highlight and copy the text directly from the published page (not in edit mode).
- Enter Page Builder / Edit mode.
- Add a completely new Text Card to the layout.
- Paste the copied text into the Configuration panel of the new Text Card.
The workaround here is to either go into Edit Mode and copy/paste from there or save the card you're trying to copy from as a template and publish it to the new page and then delete the text you're not trying to copy.
How often is this impacting your users?
Impacts Page Builders responsible for updating/creating new pages/apps. The issue occurs 100% of the time when the described steps are performed.
Who is this impacting? (ex. model builders, solution architects, partners, admins, integration experts, business/end users, executive-level business users)
Page/Model Builders.
What would your ideal solution be? How would it add value to your current experience?
Expected Behavior: Anaplan should recognize and retain the exact rich-text formatting (styles, spacing, bullets) when copy/pasting text from one Anaplan Text Card to another. Builders should be able to duplicate text across identical cards seamlessly without having to manually delete random spaces or re-assign the "Normal" text style.
