Current Behavior
In the Open Period Configuration screen, both member names and captions are displayed in the member selection dialog when selecting Scenario and Date members.
However, once the selection is completed and the member selection dialog is closed, only the member names are displayed on the main configuration form. Captions are no longer shown.
Enhancement Request
We would like the Open Period Configuration screen to support captions not only in the member selection dialog, but also on the main form after members have been selected.
Specifically, the selected Scenario and Date members should be displayed using their captions (or provide an option to display both captions and names), consistent with the member selection experience.
Business Case
In the Scenario dimension, we maintain hierarchies for forecasting and budgeting. To manage different versions of each forecast and budget, we combine version and scenario information into a single member name.
For example:
FY28_Budget_01 = Initial budget for FY28FY28_Budget_02 = Revised budget for FY28FY28_Forecast_02 = forecast for FY28 Q2
The numeric suffixes may represent different business meanings depending on the planning process, making it difficult for users to understand and distinguish members based solely on their technical names.
While captions help users identify the correct members during the selection process, those captions disappear after the selection is completed. As a result, users must rely on technical member names when reviewing the configuration.
Displaying captions on the main Open Period Configuration form would make it much easier for users to verify and double-check their settings, especially in multilingual environments and models with complex scenario structures.
