In as much detail as possible, describe the problem or experience related to your idea. Please provide the context of what you were trying to do and include specific examples or workarounds:
We have modules which should be accessible on UX but not in Anaplan XL or Excel Add-ins. For example we have employee data which should not be exported or copied which is possible in Anaplan XL. Or we want users to make inputs specifically on a saved view, which is published on UX but often users do not access the save view but try to replicate it. Even if I save it as the default view Anaplan XL doesn't apply it.
How often is this impacting your users?
Every time they access Anaplan XL.
Who is this impacting? (ex. model builders, solution architects, partners, admins, integration experts, business/end users, executive-level business users)
Users and model builders. It requires a lot of workarounds from model builders.
What would your ideal solution be? How would it add value to your current experience?
In the users panel, same as roles —>modules, it could be roles—>Anaplan XL/Addins, where admins could edit the settings. By this you could set all to none and then the whole model would be blocked for Anaplan XL but still accessible on UX. And it would also be possible to decide if you want the users to make inputs or to simply read the data. In our case we want to use Anaplan XL as Reporting tool. No inputs but users should build reports which are outside of Anaplan. Currently they see all the modules in Anaplan XL for which they have access to, which makes the selection hard. With a extra access layer I could grant them read access only to the relevant output reports.
