With the February 2026 release of Management Reporting on mobile, Anaplan page builders can now deliver beautiful, structured report pages directly to smartphones and tablets. Crucially, this requires zero additional mobile-specific page configurations. Any report page designed for the desktop user experience (UX) is now automatically responsive, bringing executive-grade, pixel-perfect layouts right into the pockets of your business stakeholders.
This guide breaks down how this feature works under the hood and how you can optimize your report pages to ensure a stellar mobile experience.
Unlocking report pages on mobile devices
Historically, mobile planning was centered around board and worksheet views. While these are excellent for entering transactional data or viewing high-level KPIs, they did not support the structured, multi-page, slide-style layouts required for board presentations and formal performance reviews.
Now, the Anaplan mobile app supports report pages out of the box.
- No double-builds: You do not need to create separate mobile pages. The mobile app automatically inherits the layout, cards, and theme of your desktop report pages.
- Layout retention: Your cards, presentation tables, dynamic text narratives, and sparklines maintain their styling, stacking cleanly on smaller screens to remain completely legible.
- Full interactivity: End-users can still interact with context selectors, view variance calculations on the fly, and complete approvals on the go.
Step-by-step: making your report pages mobile-ready
To make sure your mobile users have a seamless experience, follow this configuration checklist in the page designer.
- Configure the page type: Open the App designer and select Create a page (or edit an existing page). Choose Report as the page type. This page type gives you the slide-like, fixed-width aspect ratio canvas optimized for structured storytelling.
- Set up context selectors: Keep your context selectors (such as time, region, or product hierarchy) organized. When users open the page on mobile, these selectors appear in a streamlined navigation menu, letting them easily slice the data without cluttering the screen.
- Integrate custom action buttons: Since the February 2026 release, mobile users can also trigger custom action buttons built on desktop. In the page designer, configure your action buttons (e.g., triggering a model recalculation, navigating to another page, or running a workflow task). These will display as tap-friendly buttons at the bottom of the screen on mobile devices.
- Preview and publish: Before publishing, use the page designer's responsive preview modes to toggle between desktop, tablet, and mobile views. Once you are satisfied with the flow, hit Publish. Your page is instantly live on the web and the Anaplan mobile app.
Design tips for mobile report page optimization
Even though Anaplan automatically scales and stacks report pages for mobile, keeping a mobile-first mindset during your desktop build will ensure an exceptional user experience.
- Leverage the right-side insights panel: Instead of taking up valuable slide real estate with raw instruction cards, move your "how-to" text and navigation links into the collapsible insights panel. On mobile, this keeps the data front and center while keeping help just one tap away.
- Design with whitespace: Do not cram dozens of cards onto a single report page slide. Stacking too many elements makes vertical scrolling on mobile feel endless. Aim for two to four high-impact cards (such as one presentation table, one chart, and a brief narrative card) per slide.
- Optimize presentation tables: Utilize pre-defined table themes and apply conditional formatting to draw the eye to key variances (red/green). On small screens, color-coding is the fastest way for an executive to spot an outlier.
