Modeling (Platform Operations)
- Enabling StrictMath
Our upcoming platform release introduces StrictMath optimisations to ensure cross-platform floating-point precision and consistent mathematical behaviours across the calculation engine.
For cases where predictable precision is paramount, model builders can also leverage the EXACT rounding method when calling the ROUND function to enforce deterministic, bit-for-bit mathematical results across complex calculations. - Java 21 Update
In addition to math engine enhancements, we are expanding our runtime capabilities with full Java 21 compatibility. Upgrading the core platform's application runtime environment will maintain our security posture and provide critical security updates. This will introduce specific, documented changes for Swedish and Georgian characters within Anaplan, specifically Swedish character sorting, and Gerogian locale case conversion.
Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO)
- Databricks Bidirectional Connector (General Availability)
Data Orchestrator users will be able to both read from and write to Databricks as part of their integration pipelines. Having a fully bidirectional connector will give data engineers and platform admins a native, reliable way to keep Anaplan models in sync with their Databricks lakehouse, removing the need for custom scripts or third-party middleware and helping teams maintain a single source of truth across planning and enterprise data platforms. - MySQL / MS SQL Writeback within Pipeline
Data Orchestrator users will be able to write data directly back to MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases as part of their pipeline workflows. Being able to writeback to these relational databases will give data teams a direct, automated way to push Anaplan model outputs into their existing operational systems, helping them close the loop between planning and execution without relying on manual exports or bespoke integration builds. - Google BigQuery (GBQ) Writeback within Pipeline
Data Orchestrator users will be able to write data directly back to Google BigQuery as part of their pipeline workflows. Being able to writeback to BigQuery will give data teams a native, automated way to push Anaplan model outputs into their cloud data warehouse, helping them keep downstream analytics, reporting, and data science workflows current with the latest planning data.
Close and Consolidation
UI/UX
- Global System Folder: "Fluence" renamed to "Global"
The system folder previously labeled "Fluence" will now appear as "Global" across the platform. Renaming this folder will give users a clearer, more intuitive label that reflects its true scope and purpose, helping teams navigate the system structure without confusion carried over from legacy branding. - Mappings UI/UX redesign
Users will experience a redesigned mappings interface, including a new status badge, a streamlined AI-assisted mappings workflow, and front-end validations. Having a more visual and guided mapping experience will give finance and admin users a faster, more intuitive way to build and verify mappings, helping them catch errors earlier and reduce time spent on setup and troubleshooting.
Journals
- Enhanced Journals module
Users will benefit from a range of improvements to the journals module, including visibility into autogenerated lines, auto-post on copy, an improved JE query that retains last-execution parameters, and overall performance gains. Having greater transparency and control over journal entries will give accounting teams a more reliable and efficient way to manage journals, helping them work faster while maintaining a clear audit trail. - Consolidation engine
Matrix Consolidation
Users will be able to run consolidations in parallel across multiple dimensions simultaneously. Being able to consolidate in a matrix structure will give finance teams a faster, more scalable way to process complex, multi-dimensional consolidations, helping them shorten close cycles even as organizational complexity grows. - Inventory Margin
Users will be able to eliminate intercompany inventory profit, including unrealized gains, directly within the consolidation engine. Having built-in support for inventory margin elimination will give consolidation teams an accurate, automated way to remove intercompany profit from inventory balances, helping them ensure compliant, audit-ready financials without manual adjustment entries. - Merger
Users will be able to unify two or more legal entities into a single entity within the system. Having native support for entity mergers will give finance teams a structured, reliable way to reflect organizational restructuring in their consolidation model, helping them maintain accurate historical and go-forward reporting without rebuilding entity structures from scratch. - Netting for multiple accounts
Users will be able to apply account netting across multiple accounts at once, rather than one at a time. Being able to net multiple accounts simultaneously will give finance teams a more efficient way to offset intercompany balances, helping them streamline the close process and reduce manual netting effort.
Integration
- Hierarchy extract
Users will be able to extract hierarchies to staging tables for integration with Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) or third-party applications. Having a direct hierarchy extract capability will give data and integration teams a consistent, automated way to synchronize hierarchy data across systems, helping them maintain alignment between Financial Consolidation and downstream platforms without manual rebuilding.
Data Import
- View staging table
Users will be able to preview staging table data directly through an Excel-style report view. Having visibility into staging data before it's processed will give data teams a quick, practical way to verify accuracy and catch issues early, helping them troubleshoot with confidence before data moves further downstream. - Run validation errors via data import logs
Users will be able to access the validation errors pop-up directly from the data import logs. Having validation errors surfaced within the logs will give users a faster, more direct way to identify and resolve import issues, helping them reduce back-and-forth and keep data import runs moving smoothly.
Product discontinuation and changes notice
- App version of Financial Consolidation: No longer supported
The App Version of Financial Consolidation will no longer be supported going forward. Retiring this version will help consolidate the product experience around a single, actively developed platform, helping users benefit from ongoing improvements without the added maintenance burden of supporting a legacy interface. - Removal of ability to edit running workflows
Users will no longer be able to edit a workflow while it is currently running. Removing this capability will help protect data integrity and prevent unintended disruptions to in-progress processes, helping teams avoid errors or inconsistencies that could arise from mid-run changes. - Legacy report deprecation
Certain legacy reports will be deprecated and replaced by web reports or forms. Retiring these legacy reports will help streamline the reporting experience around modern, actively supported formats, helping users transition to more flexible and better-performing reporting tools over time.
Enterprise experience
- KPI Card enhancements
We are adding greater flexibility to design and display KPIs. The new customization features will include:- Conditional font formatting: Automatically change the font color or style based on performance rules.
- Dynamic trend indicator: Visually indicate performance direction with trend arrows driven by line item comparisons.
- Select a conditional icon indicator based on business rules.
- Hierarchy Chart updates: Automatic parent selection on Node addition for data driven hierarchy charts
When adding a new node, the parent will now automatically be select removing the need to manually select.
This enhancement applies to Action Form-based implementations. - Board Insights enhancements
You can drag and drop cards across the board canvas to insights and vice versa. This enhancement lets you move cards smoothly and focus on the key data that matters.
Workflow
- Usage stats breakdown
Workflow Owners can now click the Total users metric on the Usage dashboard to open a detailed side panel displaying the names and emails of all active users within a selected date range. - Richer email notifications
Notification Tasks have been upgraded with custom subject lines (up to 500 characters) and custom intro/outro fields (up to 1,000 characters each), giving builders full control to deliver highly tailored, contextual emails. - Flexible ADO pipelines in UX
Builders now have more control when configuring ADO pipelines in actions on NUX with data space selection, bulk adding, search functionality, reordering, and direct visibility into "last run" timestamps. - Auto refresh for UX pages
A new page refresh toggle in the data write task configuration automatically refreshes grids, charts, and KPIs upon successful workflow completion, eliminating manual refreshes.
Mobile
- Expand / Collapse Grid rows on Mobile
Anaplan app users will be able to expand and collapse hierarchical grid rows along a single dimension. Being able to expand or collapse grid rows will give mobile and tablet users a clear, practical way to reveal or hide details on UX grids & presentation tables, helping them focus on the key data that matters the most.
- KPI conditional formatting on Mobile
Anaplan app users will be able to view conditionally formatted KPI cards that display the new trend and threshold indicators, providing a visual mechanism to help you quickly understand the direction of key business metrics.
