From my perspective, the Anaplan community has three purposes:
- Customers/Partners to share feedback with Anaplan so the roadmap can be designed with those who actually use—and pay for— the product(s) in mind.
- Status - Mixed success leaning towards failure— as of about 4 years ago, Anaplan stopped interacting with and promoting top requested features/enhancements in favor of features/products that generate more revenue.
- Resolution - Give the people what they want— bring Anaplan employees back to the community boards and implement the everyday changes that are needed to make Anaplan a competitive platform that people enjoy using. Keep statuses updated
- Customers to share challenges they are facing and get help
- Status - Success — the community is very active in supporting those who are looking for solution and problem solving. this comes in both direct answers to questions and clever workarounds.
- Connecting People - the community is meant to be just that, a community. A place where you can see/share ideas, connect with people, understand their expertise, celebrate their successes and build connections.
- Status - Failure — the ability to connect with other builders/architects/ux users and understand what skillsets and experience they have has been stripped out of the community
- Resolutions -
- Bring back the ability to search for community members by name - this is Anaplan LinkedIn. Let people find each other.
- Bring back badges that tie to academy and fun badges as well - How do I know if i should trust someone's advice/guidance if the only indicators (badges) are not auto populated and updating… also they are fun and give people a reason to interact with community. Give badges for posts that get a laugh reaction, for adding a screenshot into a post, for logging in on St. Patricks day— serious is not the requirement
- Bring back Anaplan engaging in the community dialogue in useful ways - Those who have been around a while remember the days of an active community with Anaplan employees/Customers/Partners all commenting and contributing side by side. It's better that way.
We all want this to be a better space but unfortunately, the value has been decreasing over time— particularly for those who are investing the most. It is time to fix this and tell everyone you are doing so.
Thank you,
Jake - an 8 year (2 company) customer
