Description:
Currently, Anaplan UX allows limited sorting capabilities, primarily focused on rows in grid views. However, users often need to sort data by columns or rows, depending on the layout and analysis requirements. This limitation affects usability in both Board and Worksheet pages, especially when working with cross-tabulated data or pivoted views.
Proposed Enhancement:
Introduce native functionality that allows users to:
- Sort by columns (e.g., sort time periods, product categories, or other dimensions displayed as columns).
- Sort by rows (e.g., sort customers, regions, or SKUs based on metrics).
- Apply sorting dynamically via:
- Right-click context menu
- Sort icons in headers
- Page builder configuration options
Additional Options:
- Allow sorting by ascending/descending values.
- Enable multi-level sorting (e.g., sort by region, then by revenue).
- Respect user-based filters and access controls.
Benefits:
- Enhances analytical flexibility for end users.
- Reduces reliance on workaround modules or manual reordering.
- Aligns UX behavior with expectations from spreadsheet and BI tools.
- Improves parity with classic UX features.
