To clean up old line items it is handy to now it hasn't be published to any of the dashboards.
I think it will somewhat help. Before I would clean an LI I would still want to know if it's referenced in an import/export (in the model and by other models) and in filters.

In the FCR Journal module, the Search menu always pops up when you first enter the module. This makes no sense when it is likely that the user will want to create a new journal more often than not.
